Las Vegas Vacation Rentals - What Else is There to Do in Las Vegas or Nearby Other Than Gambling?

rental cars las vegas

Las Vegas Vacation Rentals - I am planning a vacation with my gf to Vegas and we would like to do other things other than gambling or the local “lights”. We don’t want to travel too far but we will have a rental car. Were pretty much game for anything except sports. Shopping, crafts, museums, food are definately what were thinking of. Of course who knows who has a unique idea of what to do other than you of course. What happens in vegas stays in vegas - right (not in a ***** way either - freaks). Advice please las vegas nv rentals.

see the hover dam . see the shows . see the desert.
go into the desert at night far from the city and see the stars they are not in Vegas there up in the sky and they put on a free show every night no dress code either.

If you have a rental car, take a drive to the Grand Canyon, or I think they have flights that will take you there. We were at the Grand Canyon in Sept and hoping to see the Sky Walk but was not finished yet. I think they were supposed to open it in March I would check and see before I go. Have fun.

Shhhhh…you’re exactly right….what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas…..so, I really am not at liberty to tell you.

I’d love to tell you, but then….well…I can’t say what would happen…..but, it wouldn’t be good.

Have fun! I’ve only made it through the airport…on my way to LAX. Was in Vegas 25 whole minutes! lol

I’ve been to Vegas several times. My boyfriend grew up there. I don’t like to gamble either but the casinos aren’t just casinos. Cesar’s palace has a great shopping area and Fashion Show mall is nice. There’s tons of shows you can go see, and the nightclubs are some of the best in the entire world. As far as history, there really isn’t much but you can go downtown and check out Fremont St. but it’s not going to be as exciting as staying around the strip. Madame Tussauds in the Venetian is also pretty cool to check out and Mandalay Bay’s buffet is probably the best buffet there. There’s soo much to see and do. You guys will have a blast.

Ha, I liked your question and the way it was worded. Even though most people associate Vegas solely with the strip there is so much more out there.
Here are some ideas:
The Grand Canyon
Lake Mead
Red Rock (go for the scenic drive…it is beautiful)
Gameworks
Boulder City
Hoover Dam
Paymon’s Hookah Lounge
Fremont Street Experience (get a fried twinkie or an oreo at Mermaids!)
Fashion Show Mall (best mall in Vegas)

Thats pretty much all I can think of. Have fun!

You can drive up to Mount Charleston just for a change of scenery … there is probably snow still on the mountains and the ski resort should still be open. Drive out to Red Rock Canyon and go over to Blue Diamond and try to see the wild horses or wild burros. Zion National Park isn’t that far either, and check out Valley of Fire on your way back. Lots and lots of things to do in Las Vegas besides gamble … the fountains at Bellagio and the conservatory inside just off the lobby; the volcano at The Mirage and be sure to go inside and see the white tiger; visit the lions at MGM; go check out the pyramid at Luxor; The Bodies Exhibit at Tropicana is really neat, but a little expensive; try to get tickets to see Celine Dion, Mystere, The Beatles Love, or LeReve. I could go on and on. Don’t forget the Fremont Street Experience downtown.

For some of the wildest action in Vegas, go to rumjungle. If you’re looking for the biggest and the hottest, try Rain or JET

Just like everything else in Vegas, there’s something for everyone. Most of the swankier clubs — that’s anything billing itself as an ultra-lounge, meta-club, mega-club, or anything that sounds expensive — have strict dress codes, especially for the men. The rules vary, but here’s the basics: No ball caps, tennis shoes, t-shirts, gang paraphernalia, overly baggy clothing, etc. A few clubs, like Gilley’s and The Whiskey, might be a little looser depending on the time of night and the nature of the evening’s theme
Las Vegas tour packages include excursions to the Grand Canyon, Lake Mead cruises, and drives to Hoover Dam. See the desert on an ATV, the Colorado River by raft or check out the Las Vegas Strip on a helicopter tour.

Gamble and have fun!!!!!!!!!

We hit all the 99Cent stores, K-marts, Walmarts, Ross & 3.99 shoe stores (Across from Blvd Mall)…

I disagree with ‘ila’ we have at least 2 history museums that I can think of. Plenty more other museums too. The Lied Discovery Children’s museum is not just for kids, if you like science it is a must see, hands on fun. Not everything here is all glitz and glam, real people live here. In fact most of the locals I know stay away from the strip unless they work there, leaves room for those visiting. Visit I use this web myself when I am not sure what to do. Galleria Mall is one of the best. Best comedy show is at O’Shea’s - Vinny Favarito - cheap too. Like music? See The Scintas - brothers and little sister, they are the top, small theater so every seat is a good one. Phantom of the Opera is wonderful, just remember to close your eyes when the fireworks fly otherwise you will be blinded for a short time. I personally would not recommend Celine I’ve not heard anything good and know some people that work for the show, many honest reviews are bad. Dinner show - Marriage Can Be Murder - it is a dinner mystery where you are part of the show as is everyone else around you. Some of the cast may be seated next to you but it is up to you to figure out the who and why and how. A lot of fun. Pink Taco at the Hard Rock, 7.77 special you will not find it on the menu but ask for it - 3 course seafood and steak meal, good food great deal. Also at the MM’s place on the strip there is a place to get 1/2 price show tickets, they are limited and it is not for all of the shows and you have to go in person to pick them up or see what is available because the shows release tickets to this place after they calculate what can not be sold and what needs to be filled. There are some good shows and the cost is better than buying direct but then again it is a gamble that what you want will not be available when you want it. There are a few suggestions that are different from the others, hope it helps.
