NO. The closest you can get by bus is Flagstaff, Arizona. Grand Canyon National Park is not a scheduled stop on Greyhound.
Ridiculous rental car fees? I’ve never paid more than $25 a day and if I get a car for a whole week it comes to even less a day, like $18! Look into Dollar or Thrifty. Alternatively, you can hitch a ride to Flagstaff and get the bus there.

The guy above me is right, the closest you can get by bus from Las Vegas is Flagstaff. (80 miles away). From there you could take a shuttle (FlagstaffExpress.com). It would be 25.00 per person one way.
With all the transportation fees you might be better off renting a car. I rented one for 5 days for $200 from Alamo in Vegas.
