There is no way to get to Death Valley from Las Vegas without a car. I don’t remember exactly, in miles, how far it was, but the first Christmas we lived in Las Vegas we drove over to Death Valley and it was a very long, all day trip. Figure 10 to 12 hours if you are going to drive it. But that will take you into Death Valley from the Devil’s Racetrack to Scotty’s Castle and down to Furnace Creek, easily in that time.

The guy above me is an idiot. Death Valley is only about 140 miles from Las Vegas. It is a 2 hour drive. It’s in California, not Nevada, and it’s hot; you need a car.

He’s probably thinking of Monument Valley.

Here’s one example of a Death Valley Net’l Park tour from Vegas - $199, 10.5 hrs. in an SUV. Four persons minimum.

This 11-hr jaunt is a little cheaper and runs Oct-May (not this time of year).

I see that both of these can be booked online.

there is a bus tour, but if you have never taking a bus tour before they ****.
just rent a car and get a map. you will probably be much hapier that you did. if you do go, don’t forget to go to Dante’s Peak.

Sure, when we were in Vegas in 2003, we booked a 12 hour tour (in van or RV) that included a ghost town and several stops in Death Valley including Scottys Castle. Plus, you get picked up and dropped off at your hotel.
