Car Rentals Las Vegas Airport - I Am Going to Las Vegas: Should I Use Taxi or Rent a Car for $50 for Three Days?

Car Rentals Las Vegas Airport -  My son say that rental car is too inconvenient and I say that Taxis are too expensive. I can get a rental for $50 and I would pay that round trip from airport alone. Help Las Vegas NV Rentals.

Rent the car, Vegas is fairly easy to get around in, and one trip up the strip is $10 so that would be so much cheaper.

take a taxis because if you rent a car and get a dent in it or scratch on the car you will have to pay more for the damages. So if i were you i would take a taxis.

You honestly don’t need a rental car in Vegas unless you plan to make a trip out of town. There are lots of ways to get around. I personal buy a day travel card for $5 and use the Deuce (CAT)

Driving in Vegas is a gamble in itself. The worlds worse drivers are here. If you are staying on the strip and staying on the strip do not rent a car. Waste of money for you can walk everywhere on the strip within a half hour. I am not kidding, sometimes you can walk faster than a car will move along the strip at times.

I live in Vegas also and don’t listen to the others. You don’t need to rent a car. Traffic here is HORRIBLE and you will spend your time in traffic and getting lost. Not to mention that we have the most traffic accidents in the US. My suggestion would be to get a Monorail ticket for the day and use that. No cars or taxis to worry about. Also, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, New York New York, and MGM are all connected by a tram and walkways. No need to even go on the street!

If you plan to NOT leave the strip, dont rent a car.

However I go crazy after too long on the strip and need to get out of town for a breather. Its much nicer to have the flexibily of a rental car. Drive down to lake mead,up tyo red rock, mt charleston, ect ect. A rental car for 3 days is about the cost of a roundtrip airport transfer anyway. And parking is always free.

But I do agree with others who said that if you plan to stay only on the strip, you dont need the hassel of a car. But after about 15 trips to VEgas, I have rented a car in 14 of them. Never a problem or issue at all.

If you know your way around the streets and parking garages, it’s worth renting a car if you are going to be moving around a lot.

Consider the time factor as well - on some nights during peak times you could end up spending more time waiting in the cab line than you actually do in the cab.

Okay, I’ve done both, and personally with the traffic being as bad as it is, and all the tipping you have to do, I rent a car when I’m there.

If you’re looking for another option, the Monorail will take you just about anywhere on the strip. It’s more expensive then a bus pass, but I’d pay the difference. I rode the bus in LV once, and NEVER again. It was wall to wall people and blazing hot.

Have fun!

you should take taxis everywhere if not walk. if you rent a car, you would have to worry about parking and someone hitting your car. but with a taxi you can just get in from the front of any hotel and go anywhere. it would cost a little more if not the same.. good luck!
